FAQ

Fine or Textured binder?

Fine Binder is smooth and paint-like, for brushed, rolled or sprayed finishes. Textured Binder is thicker and trowel-friendly, for sculpted or dimensional effects.

What's in the kit?

Each kit holds 800 g of metal powder and 200 g of binder, the same proportion in every kit size. Real zinc metal powder plus your choice of Fine or Textured binder.

Can I use it outdoors?

Yes, indoors and outdoors. Use a clear sealer if you don’t want the finish to patinate (oxidise), or to protect it from general wear.

Which patina works with which metal?

Blue and green patinas are made for copper, bronze and brass (green reacts most strongly on copper). Red patina is for iron, for rust and oxidised effects. Dark bronze and zinc also take patinas: the set of all three lets you test them.

Is the binder water-based?

Yes. LMFX binders are water-based, low VOC and non-flammable. Read the safety data sheets before use.
