Zinc powder
About this product
LMFX® Metal Powder is a real metal powder designed for use within the LMFX® metal finishing system. When combined with LMFX® metal binders, it creates authentic metal surfaces suitable for decorative, artistic and professional applications.
This metal powder is ideal for artists, designers and decorative finishers working on furniture, wall panels, sculptures, interior features and bespoke design projects where a realistic metal finish is required.
The powder allows for controlled application and forms a durable real metal layer once cured. The surface can be further refined using finishing techniques and surface treatments to achieve a wide range of metal effects and textures.
LMFX® Metal Powder is compatible with LMFX® binders and surface solutions and is suitable for creative studios, interior design projects and commercial installations.

FAQ
Is binder included?
No. Metal powders are sold on their own. Mix them with LMFX Fine or Textured Binder.
How much metal to binder?
Stir the metal powder into the binder at a ratio of 3 to 1: 3 parts metal to 1 part binder by weight.
Fine or Textured binder?
Fine Binder is smooth and paint-like, for brushed, rolled or sprayed finishes. Textured Binder is thicker and trowel-friendly, for sculpted or dimensional effects.
Which patina works with which metal?
Blue and green patinas are made for copper, bronze and brass (green reacts most strongly on copper). Red patina is for iron, for rust and oxidised effects. Dark bronze and zinc also take patinas: the set of all three lets you test them.
Can I use it outdoors?
Yes, indoors and outdoors. Use a clear sealer if you don’t want the finish to patinate (oxidise), or to protect it from general wear.
